Clean Air Strategic Alliance (CASA)

CASA was established in March 1994 as a new way to manage air quality issues in Alberta.  CASA, a non-profit association, is a multi-stakeholder partnership, composed of representatives selected by industry, government and non-government organizations.

Stakeholders are committed to developing and applying a comprehensive air quality management system for all Albertans.

CASA make decisions and recommendations by consensus.  The CASA model is known as the Comprehensive Air Quality Management System or CAMS.  On the CASA website is an overview of the system.

Stakeholders in a local region drive the establishment of an airshed zone, CASA provides the framework within which an airshed zone functions although it operates independently as a non-profit society or association.
